About Us
We’re Green Shoes, a small independent shoemakers, crafting high-quality handmade leather shoes and boots from our workshop on the edge of Dartmoor.
With a legacy spanning over 40 years, we recently transitioned into an employee-run venture after our founder, Alison Hastie, retired. Under new owners, Glenn Woodcock and Nina Bailey, we remain committed to preserving our rich heritage making quality long-lasting resoleable and repairable footwear, whilst also moving forward with a modernised approach to our brand and collection.
We have evolved our collection with a newly designed range of stylish, comfortable and durable footwear that we are truly passionate about making. Each pair of Green Shoes is handmade to order by us in our Devon workshop, working against the seasonality of fast fashion that amounts to overproduction and waste.
Kim, Agnes, Ed and Sarah
Kim
A native Devonian, Kim left to travel and work around the world. She returned to the area just before having twins. Kim is never happier than when she is top-stitching the leather uppers.
Agnes
After growing up locally, Agnes left to study for an art degree in London. On returning she secured a job at Green Shoes and has never looked back. Agnes is the creative force behind Green Shoes and number one organiser.
Ed
Ed is the first man to ever be employed by Green Shoes, after 40 years of a woman-only workforce. Ed began his career in carpentry and forestry but leatherwork has always been a hobby.
Sarah
The longest serving member of the team, Sarah moved to Devon to work at Green Shoes. With a natural creative flair and perfect sense of style, Sarah is our general problem solver and repairer.
