About us

Our Green Shoes workshop is nestled in the heart of the Dartmoor countryside, in Moretonhampstead. Our small business is dedicated to crafting handmade shoes that blend traditional techniques with inspiration drawn from Dartmoor’s landscapes. Our workshop specialises in small-batch productions with minimal waste and no overflowing stockrooms. Each pair of Green Shoes is handmade to order, working against the seasonality of fast fashion that amounts to overproduction and waste. With a legacy spanning over 40 years, we remain committed to preserving our rich heritage making quality long-lasting resoleable and repairable footwear.

Meet the team

  • Kim

A native Devonian, Kim left to travel and work around the world. She returned to the area just before having twins. Kim is never happier than when she is top-stitching the leather uppers.

  • Ed

Ed is the first man to ever be employed by Green Shoes, after 40 years of a woman-only workforce. Ed began his career in carpentry and forestry but leatherwork has always been a hobby.

  • Sarah

The longest serving member of the team, Sarah moved to Devon to work at Green Shoes. With a natural creative flair and perfect sense of style, Sarah is our general problem solver and repairer.
